Papamoa Volunteer Fire Brigade

Welcome to the official homepage for the Papamoa Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Our brigade began it's history in 1973. You can read all about it using the history link above.
We are a TOTALLY VOLUNTEER Brigade. That is, we don't get paid anything for our services. We all have jobs (or family duties) outside the fire service. We train every Tuesday night and attend courses as required from time to time to maintain the skills required to serve our community.

Our first response urban fire district is from Palm Beach Bvd to the eastern end of Papamoa Beach Road and from the beach to the State Highway.  We also respond as back-up to neigbouring districts and up into the Papamoa Hills area.  When required we are backed up by appliances from Te Puke, Mount Maunganui, Greerton or Tauranga.

As part of the New Zealand Fire Rescue Service we respond to a variety of calls including structural and vegitation fires, car accidents, hazardous materials, and others.  In the last few years we have averaged around 120 calls per year.
