The 2015 UFBA National Drivers Challenge was held at Manfeild Park in Feilding on 21-22 August.
A very successful and sunny weekend added a brand new UFBA Challenge medal winner to the tally with Braden Hammond of Bulls Volunteer Fire Brigade taking the title of 2015 Champion and also collecting the UFBA Past Presidents Memorial Trophy for first place overall AND the Jeff Hutton Memorial Trophy for least combined points in Exercises 1-5. Braden collected only 399.50 penalties throughout the weekend across all theory and practical exercises, extending his lead from the second place getter Neil Matheson from Kohokohu Volunteer Fire Brigade with 443.30 total penalties. Another North Islander Grant Scothern of Te Puke rounded out the top three overall securing third place with 479.30 total penalties.
The Challenge would not be a success without our Officials and our Host Committees. To every single person who assisted us with this Challenge, we thank you and look forward to seeing you again at the next UFBA Challenge.
Feilding Volunteer Fire Brigade, you did an amazing job as hosts and you should be very proud of yourselves and your brigade.
