The UFBA 139th Annual Conference and AGM will take place in Auckland from 27-29 October.
On 1 July, the integration of urban and rural fire services into Fire and Emergency New Zealand began—bringing new challenges for all of us who are committed to protecting property and lives.
The theme of our Conference this year is Leading together—a crucial aspect in ensuring UFBA, FRFANZ and our members continue their major contributions to building safe, sustainable communities.

Registration for brigade delegates is a two-part process. Before you go online to register, you must ensure you have sent through your brigade's notification of delegate form to the UFBA Office. Then you can register online.
It is important to register online so we can make the necessary accommodation and meal arrangements for you.
One delegate from each NZFS Brigade and NRFA Rural Fire Force that are members of the UFBA is funded by the UFBA.
Military and Industrial Brigades are welcome to attend self-funded.

NOTICE OF MEETING (RULE 17)
The 2017 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (Rule 17) will be held at the Pullman Hotel, Auckland commencing at 12pm on Friday 27 October 2017 and ending at 1pm on Sunday 29 October 2017.
ELECTIONS AND NOMINATION PROCESS (RULE 13)
There will be vacancies for the following positions:
- Director of the Board
- Vice President
- Technical Panel representative

Nominations must be received in the UFBA Office no later than 5pm on Thursday 27 July 2017.
REMITS (RULE 17.5)
In accordance with Rule 17.5, remits may be brought before the Annual Conference.
Download the form below to submit remits. Conditions governing the submission of remits are set out in Rule 17.5. In particular, please note that each remit submitted needs to be formally confirmed by a majority decision at a brigade meeting and must also be seconded by another fire brigade member. Remits must be sent to reach the Chief Executive Officer by 5pm Thursday 27 July 2017.
RULES (RULE 19.2)
In accordance with Rule 19.2, proposed changes to rules may be brought before the Annual Conference.
Proposed Rule changes must be submitted formally in writing to the Chief Executive Officer by Thursday 27 July 2017.
UFBA CONFERENCE NOTIFICATION AND DELEGATE FORM
In accordance with Rule 6.3, “Fire Brigade members may elect a Delegate to any General Meeting of the Association pursuant to Rule 18.1. Every Delegate shall be an Enrolled Member elected at a regular or scheduled meeting of Enrolled Members of the Fire Brigade Member of which due notice has been given”.

The UFBA Annual Conference is a time when your brigade can contribute to the way the UFBA acts and how you are represented. There are three key roles to be voted on at Conference as well as changes to the rules and regulations of the Association.
