RCR Challenge
In Road Crash Rescue (RCR) Challenges, teams are put in scenarios that simulate real life road crashes and are marked on their extrication techniques.
National and regional RCR Challenge take place every two years and are run in accordance with the rules and guidelines laid our by the Australasian Road Rescue Organisation (ARRO).

2010 UFBA National RCR Challenge
Thirteen teams from throughout the country competed in the National Road Crash Rescue Challenge, hosted by Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigades' Association.
2009 UFBA Region 3 & 4 RCR Challenge
Seven South Island teams competed at the 2009 Region 3 & 4 RCR Challenge, hosted by the Cromwell Volunteer Fire Brigade.
2009 UFBA Region 1 & 2 RCR Challenge
Eight North Island teams competed in the 2009 Region 1 & 2 RCR Challenge, hosted by the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade.
