The 2015 National Waterway Challenge was held on 5-7 March under very wet and soggy conditions in Greymouth. Despite these trying conditions, the Challenge days went ahead as scheduled and the rain did not deter any competitive spirits.
Congratulations to Silverdale, winning the 4 person event by a very small margin, pipping hosts Greymouth to take the title and UFBA medals of 4-person National Champions. And Rangiora deserve as much recognition for securing the top spot as the 2-person National Champions. Both teams - along with Greymouth, and 2-person second place getters Morrinsville - will be funded by the UFBA to attend the Australasian Firefighter Championships in Echuca, VIC, Australia in October later this year.
Well done to all new and existing teams involved in all of the UFBA Waterway Challenges this year. Keep up the training and we look forward to seeing you at the next Waterways season.
