UFBA/FRFANZ 'Have your say' Roadshow

UFBA/FRFANZ merger – have your say on shaping the future of your advocacy and support association

We’re coming on the road to meet with you, our members this Autumn/Winter 2018!

UFBA CEO Bill Butzbach and a representative from FRFANZ will be coming to a town near you to discuss some key issues around the shape of future services and how we can represent your local needs.

We’ll discuss formalising the merger between UFBA and FRFANZ and what the new constitution could look like.

What changes are ahead?

Alongside the ongoing changes to the Fire & Emergency NZ operating model and organisational structure involving 40 different agencies, we’re also changing the face of the UFBA and FRFANZ.

We’ll be formalising the UFBA and FRFANZ merger in the upcoming conference in Wellington from November 16th, and want to make sure our new constitution represents the needs and interests of all our members, the UFBA democracy. We want to get it right so be it urban, rural, industry, defence, volunteer or paid we need to know what is important to you and your local brigade or fire force.

From the end of May and throughout June, we’ll bring a draft of our new constitution and talk about what it means for you and what remits could be included. The UFBA has been supporting and advocating for firefighters for 140 years – now we are looking at the most significant change in our shared history as we look to serve a broader membership with different needs and issues. Please be a part of this change as the decisions we make today will shape the emerging association for generations of future members. Only united can we realise change – join us at to our roadshows and then vote at conference and be a part of the developing the new leading association.
