UFBA Benevolent Fund Firefighters Earthquake Appeal
24th February 2011The UFBA Benevolent Fund Firefighters Earthquake Appeal, which was set up directly after the 4th September Canterbury Earthquake, is making another push to raise funds to support firefighters and their families who have been affected by the latest Christchurch Earthquake. The members of a jointly-formed UFBA and New Zealand Fire Service welfare group and Benevolent Fund trustees are administering the fund, and BNZ is processing all credit card transactions free of charge so that 100% of the funds raised can go to firefighters in need.

More on the UFBA Benevolent Fund Earthquake Appeal
A joint welfare group consisting of representatives of both the New Zealand Fire Service and United Fire Brigades’ Association was set up to manage welfare initiatives after the first earthquake, and that arrangement has now been reinforced and will continue over the coming months.
Many of our firefighters will be suffering hardship as a result of the earthquake, while still working to help other members of their communities. Now is the time to rally around and, in true firefighter spirit, look after our own.
The NZFS has committed additional funds, and we’re seeking further support from brigades and individuals around the country.
You can help by donating to the UFBA Benevolent Fund Firefighters Earthquake Appeal. 100% of funds raised will go to distressed firefighters and their families. Time is of the essence during this difficult time, so donors are encouraged to make contributions as soon as possible.
All donations received by the UFBA Benevolent Fund will be administered and distributed to affected personnel – both paid and volunteer – by the joint welfare group referred to above.
