On 21 February, the New Zealand Fire Service put out a national safety alert notice advising brigades of an issue that arose at the National Training Centre involving a Draegar BA set. During training, the medium pressure hose bent, restricting the air being delivered to the wearer. It was brought to the attention of the Senior Leadership Team, and a level 2 investigation has been initiated. Paul McGill, Deputy National Commander Advised that the Fire Service will continue to keep brigades informed and requested that, in the interest of safety, any issues related to the medium pressure hose be sent immediately to firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance. The notice and related updates will continue to be available through Firenet.
