Auckland Rural Fire Forces (Super City)
8th July 2010The UFBA is currently supporting ten Rural Fire Forces (RFF) members who have been concerned about the implications of the Super City concept on the way in which they wish to provide services to their communities. The issue is that contrary to a perception that these RFF’s only deal with vegetation fires, they in fact provide a full fire and rescue service to their communities and wish to continue to do so.
UFBA has been supporting this group in convening meetings and forums, preparing and lodging a detailed submissive with the Auckland Transition Agency setting out the position of the group, and also providing advice on other operational options which might be available.
