International Volunteer Day 2024

 

Today, we celebrate our volunteer members, and all volunteers worldwide who give so much to serve and protect their communities, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Volunteer firefighters make up 86% of Fire and Emergency's frontline workforce and Aotearoa New Zealand is also a volunteering nation, with one-fifth of our population volunteering in some way.

 

This would not be possible without those who support volunteers to do what they do - the families, the employers, and the volunteer support workers.

 

Volunteering is the act Volunteerism is the support we wrap around our volunteers.
