UFBA welcomes new Chair for FENZ Board

Internal Affairs Rebecca Keoghan will be the first female Chair of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Board, Internal Affairs Minister Jan Tinetti announced today.

The United Fire Brigades’ Association of NZ Chair Hon. Peter Dunne said "I welcome the appointment of Rebecca Keoghan as the new Chair of Fire and Emergency New Zealand and am very much looking forward to working with her.

"The UFBA is FENZ's primary partner in the delivery of fire and emergency services in New Zealand and Ms Keoghan's knowledge of volunteering and rural fire emergency services means we should be able to enhance the already close relationship between our two organisations.

"May I also take the opportunity to acknowledge the work of Hon. Paul Swain whom I appointed when Minister of Internal Affairs to be Chair of the former Fire Service Commission, and then the first Chair of Fire and Emergency New Zealand. He has made an outstanding contribution during those years."
