Two UFBA Board Interns Appointed
We received nine quality applications for the UFBA Board Internship position. The Board-appointed panel reviewed all the applications, and after much discussion, we are excited to announce that the Board has agreed to appoint TWO interns for the 2024/25 year!
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming our two new interns, who will be formally inducted at the Board meeting in August.
Duncan Tabor, Senior Firefighter from Wellington Ops Support Unit.
Duncan has been a volunteer for five years, including two with Remutaka OSU. He works as an evacuation consultant and when he's not working or volunteering, you'll find him spending time with his family, friends, pet, and studying.
"I'm excited to learn and grow as a board intern, meet like-minded individuals, and hopefully be the catalyst for some change."
Kaye Ahsam, Advisor for FENZ National Women's Development
Kaye was a volunteer firefighter for 15 years in the far north, and she now dedicates her time to working to better understand and improve the sector for women in firefighting. Her previous work experience is in the equestrian industry and as a business owner.
"I am looking forward to learning more about how the UFBA functions and how I can add value to the board to strengthen the position of the members."
We are looking forward to working with Duncan and Kaye to support their governance development and serving our membership.
