Summary of changes to Constitution for Remit 2

For a break down of some of the detail you can expect in the proposed new Constitution, there is a downloadable PDF below. We hope this answers any questions you may have and if there is anything further you wish to know do drop us an email to UFBA_FRFANZmerger.ufba.org.nz

Detailed explanatory memorandum

For those who like the detail - you can find a 40 page detailed memorandum outlining the proposed UFBa's governance system, role of different groups and committes, detailed changes to the rules and constitution and the reasons for doing so in the links below.

In 2017, UFBA and FRFANZ Associations voted for change - to merge the two organisations.  In 2018, we engaged with members from both Associations across NZ and proposed how we may best go about the merger.

Members gave us a clear message – to dissolve both organisations would be overly disruptive, costly and not necessary to bring them together as one.  We propose now to amend the UFBA Constitution for the combined organisation from November 2019.

Today, we are providing you with information to provide an update on progress and to ask for your feedback on key proposed changes to the Constitution.

You can find all the information you need in the download links at the bottom of this page:

If you have any feedback, questions and concerns, or would like to talk to someone about the merger please email us on: UFBA_FRFANZmerger@ufba.org.nz. We look forward to hearing from you at any time.

We're also looking forward to growing into a single association that's more inclusive, contemporary and fit-for-purpose in our modernised sector. With your brigade's vote at Conference let's make that happen!
