In 2017, UFBA and FRFANZ Associations voted for change - to merge the two organisations. In 2018, we engaged with members from both Associations across NZ and proposed how we may best go about the merger.
Members gave us a clear message – to dissolve both organisations would be overly disruptive, costly and not necessary to bring them together as one. We propose now to amend the UFBA Constitution for the combined organisation from November 2019.
Today, we are providing you with information to provide an update on progress and to ask for your feedback on key proposed changes to the Constitution.
You can find all the information you need in the download links at the bottom of this page:
- Merger update video - click here to view - (6 minutes long) this clearly outlines the proposed changes and key points.
- Merger Update – Version 1.0 includes both a merger update and a summary of draft changes proposed to the UFBA Constitution for the merged organisation, should that proceed later this year. A hard copy of this document is also being mailed to Brigades on Tuesday 13th August - keep an eye out for this in the mail.
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - we have gathered common questions from our discussions to-date to inform our first set of FAQs.
If you have any feedback, questions and concerns, or would like to talk to someone about the merger please email us on: UFBA_FRFANZmerger@ufba.org.nz. We look forward to hearing from you at any time.
We're also looking forward to growing into a single association that's more inclusive, contemporary and fit-for-purpose in our modernised sector. With your brigade's vote at Conference let's make that happen!
