Te Atatu Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed in 1968 as a standalone Volunteer Brigade opening our first station in what used to be the horse paddocks opposite the Te Atatu Community Constable, 492 Te Atatu Rd, Te Atatu Peninsula.
Our first station
We then moved to a new station in 1980 at 711 Te Atatu Rd, Te Atatu Peninsula. This station was to later become "The Fire Station" child care centre .
In 2011 our Brigade was reformed as a composite station and moved to new premises at 297 – 299 Te Atatu Rd, Te Atatu South. A year later, the new station was officially opened on the 2nd July 2012 by the right Hon John Key.
Over the years our brigade has had many different appliances. Today we have a 1990 Scania G93M Type 3 Pump (TEAT662) and a 2004 Hino which we fundraised for and kitted out as a lighting unit in 2006. TEAT6619 is one of 3 lighting units in Auckland today.
Our Brigade is part of the Waitemata Fire District in Region 1. The Chief Fire Officer is our Area Manager and our Principal and Deputy Principal Officer are in charge of the day to day running of our Brigade.
