Prime Port Timaru – Z Energy Fuel Facility
Understand the process of fuel shipments, storage, safety and the role of firefighters responding to incidents involving bulk flammable fuel.
Z Energy maintains fuel storage facilities at Prime Port in Timaru to service the needs of the South Canterbury area.
This field day will allow participants to understand the safety systems applied within the fuel industry to allow safe distribution of these flammable liquids, including the safe transportation of fuel via road to sites around New Zealand.
- Gain an understanding of how fire detection and protection systems operate in a bulk fuel depot
- How the tank farm is managed to receive fuel and load out for local distribution and the systems and processes used to keep the facility safe from spills
- Safety systems present at petrol stations for tanker deliveries and point of sale supply
- A flashpoint test of Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel).
Date: Saturday, 18 May 2019. Time: 09:30 – 14:30
Location: Meet at the terminal on corner of Fraser St / Ritchie St Timaru (Carparking on Dawson Street).
Lunch Provided: Timaru Fire Station (23 Latter St, Timaru)
Dress: Level One Overalls / Full cover dress, with high viz, safety boots, hard hat and safety glasses.
Terms and Conditions
The registration fee for this Field Day is $20 per participant (this includes lunch). It is limited to 30 participants.
The fee must be paid prior to the start of the field day. Travel and accommodation costs must be met by attendees.
