Seeking UFBA Representative - Firewise

Issue date:

Review and Re-development of the Get Firewise and Māui-tinei-ahi Programmes

Fire and Emergency New Zealand has asked the UFBA to provide a representative to contribute to the review and re-development of the Get Firewise and Māui-tinei-ahi programmes.  This is to ensure they align with their strategic priorities and recommendations provided in the Schools Firewise Evaluation.

The first part of the review is near completion which is the development of a Firewise assessment tool for schools to demonstrate programme effectiveness.

In the New Year, the second part of the project starts which includes the update and  redesign of Get Firewise and Māui-tinei-ahi programme content, firefighter resources and professional  development materials.

FENZ also intends to develop a national marketing and engagement strategy and campaigns plan to support Districts.

We welcome applications from our membership to be part of this important work.  If you think you have the experience and skills to represent the UFBA, email your CV to before Friday 3 December 2021.
