Special recognition for volunteers deployed to the Nelson/Tasman fires

The UFBA and FRFANZ recognise the unique nature and circumstances surrounding the major operations underway in Nelson/Tasman.

The major deployment of resources in support of this fire are on a staggering scale requiring the cooperation of all FENZ personnel, working together under difficult and trying circumstances.

Our associations are mindful that this is a unique and rare event for New Zealand, requiring special recognition and support for our members.

Accordingly, we are working with our Fire and Emergency Partners on a solution to reimburse our unpaid volunteers for the Nelson fires.

The UFBA and FRFANZ commend your efforts and willingness to deploy in the spirit of “getting on with it” and worrying about the wash up later.
