Vaccine Certificates required for all UFBA Events

Thank you to the members for your patience while we analysed the situation and information available regarding vaccine certificates.

The UFBA has taken steps to minimise potential impacts on our events and participants, giving us the best chance to proceed as planned – including for the upcoming 2022 Challenge season and workshops.

The governments COVID-19 Protection Framework (CPF or traffic light system) currently states that if vaccine certificates are used, there are no limits on indoor or outdoor events, unless the area is in “Red” status.

We know that many venues across New Zealand are making vaccine certificates a requirement and today, the Health Order also came into effect, mandating all firefighters to have had their first vaccine dose.

It is on this basis, with this current information, that the UFBA must require vaccine certificates for anyone attending our events. This decision has not been made lightly, however in order to provide some degree of certainty and safety for everyone, it is the only viable option at this stage.
