Information for UFBA members following NZPFU Industrial Action notice

You may be aware of the further industrial action notice issued yesterday (4 August) by the NZPFU, advising that their members will stop work for one hour between 11am and 12pm on Friday 19th and 26th August.

We can advise that FENZ have confirmed volunteer fire brigades will continue to turn-out to emergencies as per the usual, pre-determined response protocols within CAD (the beatlists). FENZ has also assured us that volunteers will not be requested to standby on strategic stations where they would not normally do so.

We are seeking assurance from FENZ that Communication Centre arrangements will be in place to provide volunteer crews support at incidents with notifications and assistance requests that ensure the health and safety of our members is preserved.
