UFBA in touch with local leaders to offer encouragement and support

The United Fire Brigades’ Association is in touch with local leaders across the Canterbury region to offer our support as the storm continues to ravage the region.  Click here to view NIWA’s new national river flow forecasting tool that aims to strengthen planning for and response to extreme rainfall events as is being experienced in Canterbury.  “With flooding being the most natural disaster in NZ, it’s times like these that we are encouraged by new emerging technology and research to support decision-making efforts of emergency services,” says Bill Butzbach, CEO.
