UFBA Board Update

The United Fire Brigades’ Association of NZ (UFBA) are delighted to announce that Hon. Peter Dunne has been unanimously elected as the Chair of the UFBA Board.  This follows Richie Smith’s position as chair on the UFBA Board reaching the end of its term, though he will continue his good work as Strategic Advisor (ex Officio).  

“Hon. Peter Dunne’s appointment as Chair, follows a long-standing relationship held with the UFBA that extends over many years.  Peter’s knowledge of fire services in New Zealand and the relationships he has with brigades, Fire and Emergency NZ and the sector generally, will be of high-value to the UFBA and its members” said Bill Butzbach, CEO.

President Jason Prendergast says “I have enjoyed working closely with, and learning from Richie Smith, who has bought so much business expertise to our board room.  I look forward to working alongside Hon. Peter Dunne, and the UFBA membership benefitting from his strength and experience in both the emergency services sector and government.”

Hon. Peter Dunne said “I feel honoured and delighted to have been elected Chair of the Board. I am looking forward immensely to what lies ahead and to working with everyone to make the UFBA the best organisation possible for its members. A big thank you to Richie for all his hard work and for the sound platform he has laid."
