Constitution

An association governed by a constitution

The UFBA is an association, an incorporated society and a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005 (no. CC27476).

Our actions are governed by our constitution - or rule book - which is directly shaped through members' remits posed and voted on at AGMs.  That means our members are at the heart of how we operate and what we do and ensures we are always accountable to our members.

Our constitution has undergone numerous changes since our inception in 1878 with the biggest being a newly modernised version in 2019. To support the delivery of our services the UFBA maintains a library of individual policies that complement the constitution and allow us to remain adaptable.

The Regulations have been updated and are published below.
