UFBA Service Honours Price Increase – April 2026

We regret to inform members that Badges and Medals have advised that their prices will be increasing again due to the continued rising cost of gold and silver. As a result, price increases for certain items will mainly impact:

  • 50-Year Service Medal
  • 25-Year Gold Star
  • 5-Year Service Medal
  • Gold bars

We understand the financial impact these increases will have on brigades. These medals and bars are a personal and generational taonga/treasure for many members.

An option for some may be the gold-plated alternative for both the 50-Year Service Medal and 25-Year Gold Star. This medal still maintains a high-quality finish and appearance, while being cost-effective.

UFBA Management will continue to monitor gold prices and review medal pricing should opportunities arise to reduce costs in the future.

We encourage brigades to take advantage of the current 2026 pricing. To do this, brigades will need to:

  • submit service honours orders by Friday, 24 April 2026, and
  • ensure the honours due date is before 24 October 2026.
