As a not-for-profit association we rely on the dedicated volunteering of our UFBA members to run our Challenge Events.

Our officials and helpers on the ground gain invaluable networking and personal development by being part of a team of people helping deliver events to firefighters across the country.

Ways you can help run Challenge events:

  • Local Organising Committee and hosts help us bring the events to their area and support the local logistics in running our popular events for your community.
  • Officials and helpers keep things ticking over smoothly and safely on the tracks or pits on the day.
  • Challenge Panel (formerly Technical Panel) oversees the running and planning of the events, led by the Challenge Panel Leader.

We provide your flights (where necessary), travel costs and accommodation if you can provide the mahi and a commitment to attend. Many of our Officers have come from the Challenge event family and the camaraderie can help you develop lasting friendships.
